Marc Samwick has over 35 years experience as a principal in the acquisition, origination and workout of debt, mezzanine debt and equity real estate transactions while employed by Capital Trust (now, Blackstone Mortgage Trust), Fleet Bank (now, Bank of America) and Chemical Bank (now, JP Morgan Chase) and, since 2001, as a principal in and founder of Westmont Land Ventures, LLC and Westmont Real Estate Capital, LLC.  Mr. Samwick has completed ~100 real estate transactions representing over $3 billion in value.  Marc Samwick’s nationwide real estate experience encompasses all major asset classes.

 

Westmont Real Estate Capital is a private commercial real estate lender focused on providing bridge capital to property owners in the Northeast corridor.  Westmont Real Estate Capital uses its deep understanding of property acquisition, management, turn-around, leasing, sale and refinancing to creatively approach complex financing needs to provide flexible capital tailored to the needs of property owners.

 

Westmont Land acquires, repositions and develops property primarily in the Northeast corridor.  Westmont Land, among other things, completed nine joint venture transactions with Lennar throughout New Jersey. The transactions include approximately 900 home sites with a gross retail sell-out value of over $350 million.  Westmont Land also acquired distressed properties and notes valued at over $100 million.  Westmont added value by finishing the foreclosure process, completing construction, implementing targeted capital improvement programs, leasing vacant space, and selling properties.  Westmont has acquired for-sale residential, multifamily, office, medical office and warehouse properties.

 

Mr. Samwick was formerly Mayor of the Village of Scarsdale, New York.  Mr. Samwick was elected Trustee of the Village of Scarsdale in 2014 and was re-elected in 2016.  Two Mayors appointed Mr. Samwick to be Deputy Mayor.  Mr. Samwick was Chair of the Land Use and Finance Committees of the Board of Trustees and served as Commissioner of Police.  Mr. Samwick was the Board of Trustees' liaison to the Planning Board, Board of Architectural Review, Committee for Historic Preservation, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Chamber of Commerce.

 

Mr. Samwick graduated with honors from Columbia Business School with an MBA in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate and has co-authored and taught a case study at Columbia Business School on complex real estate ownership structures.  Mr. Samwick graduated with honors from Union College with a BA in Economics.
